about

ChaseR has become a renowned part of the Ignescent discography. With Ignescent slowly rising above the ranks within the fiercely cut-throat drum & bass underground, their roster is growing stronger with every consecutive release. And fortheir next output, ChaseR has pulled together four deliciously honed selectionsto set yet another level for both Ignescent and the wider circuit of drum & bass releases.

The 174bpm genre has become a staple within Russia’s explosive dance music realms, with the country producing some of the most promising artists since it set its roots across the country. It’s here that ChaseR found his muse, demonstrating yet again how Ignescent draw their talent from every corner of the global market, one key development which has helped them push themselves against a baying tide of competitors.

The ‘Omnicide’ EP delivers exactly what you’d expect from an artist like ChaseR. The production is tightly knit, without any exemptions, and every carefully grafted hook proving why he’s so hotly tipped across both scenes in Europe and Russia. The EP’s title-track is undisputedly ferocious. Mixed with a guttural bassline and clanking percussive elements, ChaseR creates another dimension of sound, one which is all-encapsulating and scorching to the aural touch.

‘Micro Conflict’ follows the same familiar patterns, but instead rolls out the anti-drop, one which still manages to keep you subdued by the synapses. ChaseR provides a track which is here for the long game, pulsating with more and more power between every neck-snapping break.

Then there’s ‘Suspense’, living up to its namesake by creating an intro which builds higher and higher with every stroke of sonic. The track then explodes on impact, devastatingly versatile whilst flexing its bass weight muscles with every wave of kicking drums and growling distortion.

Finally, ‘Phantasm’ joins in on the fury, rattling ominously forward between each hi-hat and sub-levelled boom. It then then explodes, ticking forward without restraint with a groove that dances underneath the mix. Together, they showcase ChaseR’s undeniable artistry – with another inspired release on Ignescent, his continual ascent to join the big leagues is accelerating at a dizzying pace.
